As New York State announced that school would be closed for the remainder of the school year, my heart instantly broke for all of the Seniors who will be missing out on their end of the year activities and, of course, graduation. Competing during Senior year is incredibly important for many skaters, as it marks (for some) the last time they will skate with their friends from their home club, be taught by their favorite coaches, or compete in general.
All of us here at the Hudson Valley Figure Skating Club are so proud of our graduating Club Members for their hard-work both on the ice and off. These skaters not only put in the effort for their skating, but they also made sure that their academics were gold-medal worthy!
To our Seniors: This new success of yours is yet another milestone in your success story. This opportunity is surely deserved and will give you an opportunity to spread your wings! We wish you all nothing but the best on this new life endeavor.
